    Customer Review: "It's dead Jim"
Today my Oster died. It was 8 months old. It caught fire internally when I tried to heat up some toquitos. The flames were coming near where the chord entered the chassie. I think it committed suicide with the intention of taking me and my family with it. I wish I could say it lived a good life...but alas I cannot. The controls were so frustating and non-intuitive. Making toast took twice as long as it should have. It's default setting completely burns the toast. I'm happy it died. RIP.

Customer Review: Best toaster oven I have ever had
We bought this great convection toaster oven about ten months ago for $60. It gets daily usage for toast, heating food, and cooking food, all with excellent results. Even pizza and baking cookies! One tip for the best results is to always be mindful of the position of the rack. For instance, for toast always be sure the rack is positioned so that the bread is the same distance between the top and bottom elements. For pizza I find moving it up a notch is better.

This unit makes the most evenly toasted toast that I've experienced in a toaster oven. And the electronic button for selecting doneness is pretty accurate.

I agree with other reviewers that the controls could have been made more user friendly, but after using it for a couple of weeks I got used to all of the settings and best temperatures to use, and now it's second nature. One thing that I still have a problem with, however, is that you have to press off twice to turn the oven off, just once puts it on pause. My husband has accidentally left it on a couple of times, but it will go off when the timer runs out.

The only other negative is that when you pull something out to reposition food, etc. the tray kind of collapses down unexpectedly so if you're not careful you can get burned, or your food can come flying out at you.

All in all this is a great oven for all of the purposes it's meant for. If it weren't for the couple of things I mentioned I would give it five stars.
